Yes and No . I personally call a game abandoned if the dev is working on more than 1 game at a time without having at least 1 complete game it's not a wise way to go in the long run a good dev will only work on 1 project at a time and try to finish it asap get a complete game for people to play to decide if they want to further support you on other projects. splitting time means nothing will ever get done so instead of maybe 2 years for a complete game you have over 4

Either y'all are trying to load broken saves, or you're trying to run the Mac version in a Windows emulator on an Android KitKat with malware... Game's fine.
Exceptions often appear when you play compressed versions. Compression works well with some games, but not so much with others. So if that's the case, it's not necessarily the fault of the Dev, since most compressed versions are made by third parties
A lot of Devs work on more than one game at a time. For some people working on one project all the time can get boring, and if there's one thing that is guaranteed to make sure a project (which you're essentially carrying out in your spare time) doesn't get finished, then it's boredom.
A great game: interesting story and delightful chicks. Pitiful that the last version is probably broken.
