User account system is currently in public beta testing phase. Bugs, inconsistencies and features not working as intended are to be expected.
Since the game is approaching it's end, why would the Dev be interested in making such a big change? And if you don't like RPG so much, why are you even bothering? It's not like there aren't hundreds of other games on this site in the renpy format already!!
There is interaction, since the game involves you finding hidden events, which ultimately develops into an entirely separate plotline for Elena. Unless you search around for these events then you miss out on a large part of her story, and a lot of sex scenes.
The next update will be the final one. There are four endings in this one, and probably four more in the last.
