It is a very common phycological reaction to something new existing, that challenges part of your life that you believed undoubtedly. The fact is that it presents a world where there is the possibility that you yourself are not what you thought you were. And facing this fact causes mental anguish, so you fight it instead of dealing with new information. If you are happy being male, that is all that you need to care about.
