Actually he never died in my playthroughs and I didnt even know, that this would happen.^^
Watch out when it says "Final", the game itself is complete but there's apparently still plans for more "DLC" updates.

I just got to Eric's funeral scene and wanted to know if I was on a path where he really dies.If so I would like to know what options I could have choose to prevent his death.

A lot of content, many and quite different endings.
