Because in the last update it said due to people hacking the game or something like that it was going to be on Steam from now on.
No, that was just a notification that it's a free game. Some sites are stealing and selling the games for money. The update said that if you paid money for the game you got scammed. It will continue to be free here and on other sites. The dev has confirmed that.
