Fast(er) mode should be a lot faster, if you haven't tried it then I suggest you do it.
I also made some changes to it this update so it should be even smoother than before.
I am constantly trying to make things better, but my list is long and I also need to make new content, and since fast(er) mode exists I feel like reducing the grind isn't as important as other changes.

It was never about "deceiving the audience", I actually enjoy grind.
Although I do admit that it is excessive in places and that will be addressed at some point.
Until that time comes user "Fast(er) mode", it can be enabled in the preferences, it should help a lot.
If that's not satisfactory for you then it's probably just not the game for you.
That said, I am constantly reworking and changing things, grind is one part that I would like to get to eventually, but I have a lot to do.
