It's not really 3 years. Dev didn't work on this game for quite a while thanks to legal troubles.
I'm currently experiencing the same dilemma you did right now. This game or should I say visual novel is taking a lot for me to continue reading. I sometimes want to give up and delete but end of drawing inner strength.
