User account system is currently in public beta testing phase. Bugs, inconsistencies and features not working as intended are to be expected.
My last played version was 0.16, and I'm not even sure if I fully played through it, maybe just downloaded, loaded old saved, and got lost due to forgetting the character stories. Last version I completely finished was probably around 0.12
Going to wait for it to finish (if ever) and maybe play it then.

I doubt they really care about other people losing money. It's more that what they refer to as "scammers" abandon their games. If incomplete games are a reliable source of income, it'll just get harder to find games that actually get finished. More some actually decent devs with decent games might not get enough funding if potential patrons waste their money on a bad dev and so good games won't get made.
Mostly though the complainers just don't like the game and try to sabotage the dev. Or they want to have a complaint that sounds more objective than "my dick didn't get hard"
But there are porn games that certainly aren't trash. The stories they tell might not be what you personally are interested in, but if you call them trash solely on that basis, then you are on the same level as the people you were complaining about.
No joiplay support anymore, imagine playing porn games on pc...
