rpg means role playing games, subgenre of adventure games, it doesn't require combat at all.
Using Save editor is not common knowledge I think. At least it took me over 2 years to find out something like this exists
How to remove the grindfest
Lengthy, grindy, time consuming POS with two pic h-scenes, doesn't feel rewarding at all the story too is stretched up and sometimes makes zero sense

Yeah, but the quest is hella weird. I think you needed to talk to the people in a specific order to solve the quest. Looked it up in the walkthrough
