Newer updates have cut down on the grinding. although they didn't rework the old grind.
In the old grind it was all
> grind 10 affection by repeating the same scene 10 times to trigger the next scene
For several updates now it has been

it is a massive improvement. although really should rework those values to reduce grind on old scenes.
and should really just trigger the new scenes automatically and then have the new scene give you that +1 affection. instead of forcing you to navigate a clunky GUI to find which girl has new scenes and then do +1 affection repeat for her to unlock the new scene
