Unless you want to play the faggot route, there is not a single gay scene in this game. All that stuff can be turned off from the options and/or dialogue. It's very simple really: if you don't like playing as a fag, dont play as a fag and stop complaining.
You need to do the infiltration quests first which weakens the enemy (+ adds more sex scenes). And recruit that white haired warrior woman who boost the morale of your own troops in every major battle.
A key to maintain the empire is to advance slowly. Don't conquer new lands until you have steady income and build all the necessary buildings to recruit new troops and distribute them evenly. A force of 10-21 troops (I suppose "1" means at least hundred soldiers) in every province should keep both raids and rebellions in check. Sure, it takes micromanagment which can be frustrating. There are also probably dozens of new sex scenes when just maintaining the empire, so you don't have to conquer and infiltrate new lands *all the time* just to get new lewd content.
