It's now been just over seven months. That makes it a little late, but not forever.
OTOH, the next chapter is 24 of 25, The creative process often slows down near the end of a story as the writer tries to tie up all loose ends. They also lost one team member, and the developer took a vacation. I expect this chapter will be another month or two.
The developer is working to his schedule, not yours. Like you, I would rather be playing 24 now and anticipating 25 soon, but the developer doesn't work to my schedule either. My advice is to be patient and play something else until the next update of this one drops.

According to the developer's Twitter page, he's predicting June.. That gives him seventeen more days.
