The Story
Look up. What do you see? A sky baked in radiant starlight shining down on you? A wisp of a cloud you once felt through your fingertips as you lay in the tall grass and listened to the careless whispers of the wind? Or, perhaps, a past that you had longed to forget, yet still finds its way to latch onto your back 〈〈 LIKE A PARASITE 〉〉 when you least expect it?
Seoul was supposed to be a fresh start after everything. A new job. A new setting. A new life. It’s everything Sora had hoped for, presenting itself with a ribbon tied to his finger to commemorate moving on. Yet, a single phone call brings him back to his home town of Itsuten-ku after having learned of his sister’s incapacitance. Many ghosts of a past he’d longed to have forgotten have prevented his journey back for some time, so his view of the city has been chipped and cracked beyond recognition. It’s why he isolated himself from that past for so long. And now, the ghosts he’s tried to keep locked up are breaking free from the shackles he himself forged.
However, his quiet office life is abruptly interrupted by his sudden inheritance as a teacher at an all-girls academy. Having never taught a day in his life, he is reluctant to accept, but as he strolls in on his first day, he is met with a fate worse than life. Whether you’re wandering the halls looking for the one male restroom, in the library tutoring, or 〈〈 SMELLING THE LAVENDER 〉〉 at home with your mystery dog, there’s always something to do here in the city.

Gameplay
ka·lei·do·scope is a story-focused visual novel following a single male protagonist and several girls, each with unique personalities and backstories. Each choice you make matters, from the coffee you drink to whether you’ll stay to watch a soccer game. So, what’s in store for you?
- Multiple Personalities: At its current state, there are around 13 characters for you to interact with and several more planned for future updates, all with unique personalities.
- Affection System: Hang out with the girls to increase their affection and unlock new scenes in future updates!
- Integrated Hint System: Are you tired of 〈〈
GETTING LOST〉〉 not knowing what to do next? An integrated hint system is implemented into each memory so you’ll always know how to unlock every scene! Just click a scene you have not yet discovered! - Planned H Animations: While the number of them are low (for now), each intimacy scene is fully animated with around 8 current animations total!
- Updates: The game doesn’t end when you 〈〈 [
REDACTED] 〉〉 quit. Each update is sure to bring with it more story and more love. It’s all about the bi-monthly wait.

- Added a number of screen effects on a couple of static images
- Added scrolling functionality to tablet devices in the Core Memories and other character menus
- Updated a couple scene transitions so they aren’t just flickering lights
- Updated the wording on many of the hints in the hint tracker to better reflect the requirements necessary for completion
- Updated the ordering of a couple Core Memories from v0.04 to flow better with the story (this may look weird in the *Event Tracker*; if this happens, you may need to restart to update the order)
- Fixed a couple instances where wording in character dialogue was misleading or missing periods/question marks/etc.
- Fixed the logic for a Core Memory that did not trigger until much later
- Fixed it so a certain flag didn’t block access to the Student Commons on Monday
- Fixed a bug that would send the player to the main menu after knocking on Kaede’s dorm and cause players to lose progress
- Fixed a bug where Otoha’s character card did not display correctly
- Fixed a few instances where old character names appeared
