Layla: Shattered Hopes [Episode 8] [OtB Games]

Layla is a girl from a hopeless rural backwater where the only options are milking cows or drinking yourself silly with the local drunks. She decides to escape to the big city. The story starts as a naive Cinderella tale but quickly turns into a thriller about human exploitation — where a “favor” is just the first step toward a contract for “additional services.”

Layla trades the cowshed for neon. But the city doesn’t greet her with open doors.
Instead — a cheap motel where the walls remember everything, a room with a view of the dumpsters, and a job as a waitress at a roadside diner where tips aren’t given for a smile — but for silent consent.

This is a story about how a dream of becoming a model turns into a daily bargain for the right to survive. With every passing hour, illusions fade, and more offers come to “consider alternative earnings.” The café owner is kind but persistent. The local cook is cynical, but seems to be the only one telling the truth.

And this is only the first floor of hell (or a springboard).
An ordinary diner is just the starting point. Ahead of Layla lie new places, new faces, new deals with her conscience. Depending on her choices, she will either begin to rise, grasping at any opportunity, or fall rapidly, getting used to the filth. The story doesn’t end at one diner — ahead is a whole life, where every step can be either a stairway up or a trapdoor down.

It is the player who decides what future Layla gets.
