Chapter 11
Before the finale drops, I’m opening the previous chapter up for free — so nobody gets left standing on the doorstep right before the ending.
This is the one where Pamela steps back into the picture: old photos, new offers, and that easy confidence of hers that gets under everyone’s skin. Lucy doesn’t quite know what to do with her, and honestly neither does Oscar. The two of them spend the whole chapter circling the same argument from opposite sides — how much room do you leave for temptation before it stops being a question and turns into a decision? And some of the shots Lucy brings home don’t make that any easier on him.
It’s a quieter chapter than what comes next, but it’s the one that sets the whole table.
