It has the same problem most Kickstarter and Patreon games fall into, where the creator becomes more and more ambitious with the project that it ends up becoming too big of a game. Too many half baked ideas, and an incomplete main story leads to a let down in terms of progression. Sure, you can become a hucow/bimbo, but it has little overall effect on the story. Plus, the dev goes dark a LOT and each update is usually a few animations. I ended my pledge despite the game showing promise.

The recent update IS worth checking out. Most of it revolves around the monster tavern.
But again, it's specific to a certain area of the game, and has little to no effect on the main plot as far as I can tell.
Meanwhile Defenestration, while often delayed, has really worth while updates. Like whole entire areas to explore, or an updated art style, and new dialog. They also have more status updates, though afaik the dev of A New Dawn has been dealing with personal stuff. So consider that I guess
