Which is really unfortunate. This is it's own, separate game. We just need to remember that as long as it genuinely deserves that 5-Star rating, that we give it that. Previous games from the author should not affect the rating, as the rating often reflects the overall quality, and this deserves 5.
It's because 'Acting Lessons' from the same maker, was insanely popular, and now people are here in droves. This game is like what will happen when Midnight Paradise, from the maker of Dreams of Desire comes onto this website. Not to mention people argue in the comments, inflating the number.
The game isn't overly long yet, so I would say give it a try for both. Download the walk through, and try getting everything you can. I found I was happiest with a middle-section DIK, leaning towards the DIK side for both of the large choices. That way I was able to be kind to dad/boss.
You *can* win the fight against Troy. Practice a few times, and then win. The combat system is unfortunately, quite clunky, and requires some actual thinking. (Curses!) But, you will get the hang of it in time.
Actually, during the intro of this game, devs put a warning about the fact it will contain scenes/events of sad, dramatic, even offensive nature.
I guess the question: 'why ruining dreams with nightmares' is valid. Just diff points of view.
I personally enjoy the game, even with what other people are saying. I think this game is good, and his other game is also very good as well. I suggest going and checking it out.
