I'd agree with you that he's an ignorant jackass, but I think the point is more that it's not up to anyone else to make those decisions for you. While they may be far and few between, it's not much comfort to those few who have a serious reaction and then the government, so happy to pay for your $20 shot, isn't so keen on the subsequent medical expenses. mRNA isn't gene therapy, but it is fucking with the very cellular instructions to build the protein, and it wasn't battle tested except by recent force. Also, it does exist, we have CRISPR and can basically manipulate genes as we please, the only thing is we don't have the knowledge yet to know which ones to fuck with to get a desired result.
Hello, Swedish person here. We did actually have lockdowns. It's just in our constitution that our government can't force us to lockdown. Some public business chose to close up, and others adopted a social distanced policy, but took it very seriously.
