I know what you mean but visual novels are different than fps, tps etc...These games are basically just a story and still images, maybe animations here and there. So the reason we developers would give people a sample of our work before the full product is because we want to know whether the game is good enough for continuation or not. Otherwise it would be a waste of time and energy and money if we made a full game, just to watch it get bad reviewed. And as for the long updates, assets require money. And computer hardware too requires money. which is why there is a Patreon and which is why developers take too long to release. All because they don't have enough money for certain assets or they don't have the best computers to do fast rendering.
You don't even pay for it. lol. You just want the entire game for free, or you'll fucking cry over it.

Developers don't care about the opinions of people who pirate or wait for free version releases, nor do they need permission from anyone here.
