User account system is currently in public beta testing phase. Bugs, inconsistencies and features not working as intended are to be expected.
It seems you're capable of reading the above post and therefor should be able to read the changelog too.
It does say that they have been re-doing the renders in the beginning of the game and you can choose in preferences to use old or new renders.
