NO! I Have DONE 0.24, Nice story line "Mentor" BUT no improvements to Maxs play ability!
There is NO plans to fix this until at lest 0.27 which may be in July!
If you want to play Kate go ahead and enjoy, but if you want to play Max, DON'T! unless you are willing to restart from the very beginning when Max becomes playable.
N.B. I am at the moment a Patreon of Dark Silver.

PLAY AS KATE!! , Do NOT! NOT! try to play as Max!
Max has NO ability to do what is needed. i.e Avoid the "DRAFT"
The reason for this is that Max is INCOMPLETE (most of his Stats are MISSING!)
And even if he had his stats, his ability to rise money is so poor,
that by the time he would able to enter collage he would TOO OLD FOR THE DRAFT!!
I am sorry to say that at this time, giving us the ability to choose Max seem dishonest.

Well he can't win can he? Loads of people have been moaning for ages that they couldn't play as a male. So he let's people play as Max, and people like you start moaning that he shouldn't have allowed it. Initially the game was primarily intended to have a female protagonist, hence why Kate has loads of content, because she's over a dozen updates ahead of Max. But lots of people hated a female protagonist, so the Dev gave in and made Max a playable male protagonist

Personally, I think he should have kept with the original concept. There was already far too much to do, just to get all the Kate content working as it should, without adding another protagonist who needed all his own individual content. I mean let's face it, with Kate receiving two updates to Max's one, he's never going to be able to do everything she can, so why bother at all? Concentrate on Kate, and get all her content playable so much sooner!

I agree with you, the problem is that both Max and Kate are described as "Main Characters".
But that not quite true,Kate IS the "Main Character" and Max is "in work",
If he had said that then I would have known that the main focus of the game was Kate and I would Tried playing as Kate first ,
and dabbled with max in my spare time.
As of now Max should be classed not as a "Main Character" but as a "Side" or "In Work" Character
As 0.25 and 0.26 will both be focused on the Kate Story Line .
