I'm guessing you didn't get very far into this game, because those choices you mentioned only appear in the first 5% of the game. After which they are never mentioned again, and appear to have no consequence for the rest of the game. But there are real choices, you can decide if the wife cheats or not, and continues to be a main character in the game. Whether Andrew has an affair with the Doctor, whether his affair with Jessica goes anywhere, or whether he continues fucking Kelly or not.

This game doesn't have an MC. You have to be both Andrew and Kelly, and also to a lesser extent Chris as well. Games that have MC's don't have multiple protagonists, they can only have one. I'm guessing it doesn't feel weird at all to play the women, since you don't make any complaints about that?
