5.3G update, many other games seem to piggy back off eachother when an update is released I dont know specifics but it seems each time I download and UPDATE I am actually downloading the entire game each time. So OK I guess if that is how it has to be..

There's no reason for it but dev laziness. You could have Renpy + Story Pt1 and then just release incremental updates. Each incremental could have logic to check for the next part and stop / continue as indicated. Nobody does this...
Yeah, the Dev obviously knows little about compressing the graphics -- which don't even seem to be that high a resolution to start with.
Tip to emerging game developers: plan your work in chunks (chapters, weeks or whatever) and you won't piss off customers with huge downloads.
