He's released 7.1, he claims he's 80% done 7.3. Give him a couple of weeks and see if things have changed.

If you're willing to put in the effort to scroll through nearly two years of comments you'll find the one where he states the final release of the game will be out before the end of 2020 and yet half way through 2021, over almost two years later since the last update just 0.7.
Maybe he should stop saying words and just tell people the truth and they might get less upset... though probably not. He doesn't help himself though.
Alternatively, you could read the post from his Patreon page, or down below, saying he was sick. If that cost him a year of work, then everything get set back a year.
Years ago he was a developer with a great track record of completed games. There had to be a reason that stopped, and the popular explanation around here of "He became an asshole overnight" doesn't hold water. Illness does.
He's working again. As long as he's producing, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
His claim of the game being finished by the end of 2020 was a good 8 months after he was done with that illness and the progress of the game had been increasing constantly over that time until it hit 90% and then stopped.
Just because somebody cared about their job before they started making $30k+ a month doesn't automatically mean they'll care forever. Work 10 hours a day or do whatever the hell you want with your time because you're rich now?
Pay $10 to read a post about an illness there's no proof ever existed... I think I'll pass.
