There's so much hate because it's a great game and we want to keep playing it and finish the whole thing, but the developer stopped working on it a couple of years ago, and a lot of fans of the game think he's scamming his supporters.
Is ICSTOR scamming? Maybe. Reading minds is way above my pay grade.
If he is, then he has to learn that in the long run he'll make more money providing a good product at a good price than he will by ripping off his supporters. If not, he has to get back to work.
if he isnt a scammer, then legitimately NOTHING is a scam then. hes made millions doing literally nothing, even pateron had to step in. only reason this last update even happened is because patreon sent him an ultimatum, "do something or get banned" and then immediately after he announced a "long break" which put him under review again. this guy is 100% a scammer.
On his Patreon he announced, that he will take a longer break due to private reasons. So why everyone is now blaming him. It is up to him for how long the break is taken, it is a private matter and non of our business. We can be happy that he started to continue the work on this lovely game. So I would say, let's appreciate that the game is now continuing.
But not if he keeps collecting money every month and he doesn't pause his Patreon page until he works on it again. He continues to cash in and makes promises that he never keeps and keeps coming back with his sick story and wants pity
he has literally made millions on patreon just sitting on his ass at this point. even patreon put his account under review because he never paused even once and after this last tiny update (to keep patreon from banning him because they sent an ultimatum to actually do something) he went and announced another "long break" so patreon is giving him the ban hammer lol.

Dude made zero updates for a year and a half, then a month after he's told "Update or get banned", he suddenly has an update... of less than a month's work. And promptly insists he's taking a long break. If you order a coffee and the workers decide to take a three hour break "due to private reasons" without giving you your coffee, it IS your business
