If the file is displaying ASCII characters then you probably opened the .rpyc file not the .rpy file.

yes but sometimes final and final are two different thinks.
it's possible to finish a game in a very bad way because the dev is no longer interesstet in the game thats the abandoned finish version š

Quick Final version. Not worth it š
Initially I was frustrated. Then I tried the walkthrough and got more frustrated. Then I played it through a few times as best I could, then went back and used the walkthrough. Unless you have already played it I don't think the walkthrough will really help much, since you kind of already need to know where you are trying to go in order to use it.
Once you get past that it is actually quite an original script/story. Playing from the perspective of multiple protaganists and lots of variety.
