Since no one else is answering the concentration question I will. You first unlock it when you talk to Maria time when she is sitting at the bench near the park. Talk to her there twice in the afternoon or evening not sure which and you'll unlock it after the second talk.

Whoever's in charge of updating games on fap- nation I'm just letting you know there is an update for this game that fixes the black screen for the shop owner and other fixes but it is possible that they accidently blocked out the altar entrance when you're turning in souls for spells.
I'm assuming this isn't the extended version?
The person in charge of updates often delays certain games an extra week or 2 or possibly longer than a month. So it's possible that's being delayed too.
