However from how it seems to me, You can probably change that in time.
But you need your choices to set away from faith.
The thing that makes me believe that is , its brought up often how hey train/teach you and you will become smarter.
I think you will be able to build him up in time but given the updates are so short it may feel like forever.

He wasn't the brightest spark before that, but he also wasn't as dumb as he was around the 'Find Anna' episode. Hence why his 'Cis' can't understand, why he isn't as smart as she remembered?
He was brought up in a poor backwater, that's almost completely isolated from the rest of humanity, in a very conservative society and strict religious background. His future was to be a poor farmer, so he received only a basic education, just like millions of people in poor backwaters in real life do and grow up with extremely restricted outlooks on life. That some more cosmopolitan people think of as being 'stupid', when in fact they are merely ignorant
The point being, that he's intended to be your stereotypical ignorant 'hick', who is so naive he takes everything at face value, because he's been brought up to believe that being dishonest in any way, is going to send a person to hell. He's lived his entire life in a bubble, where people are simple, straightforward, very honest for the most part and extremely moral. And suddenly he's thrust into a world where all that certainty is gone.
Sure the MC isn't the smartest guy in SpaceCorps. But he had just had his head smashed into the deck by the Psycho Drill Sergeant, which probably caused a major concussion. Head trauma's like that often lead to loss of short-term memory, and temporary lowering of intelligence. Which Nurse Goodyear confirmed after she treated the MC with 'Synapz' after the 'Find Anna' episode. Perhaps the game is just a little to subtle for you to fully comprehend?

It's alot of fun. Very much worth playing.
Not bad, more straight focused, but lacking in sexual content, values humour over plot/story. Some scenes are a painful slog like the hair scene or the training and some characters are annoying, especially the main character who has the intelligence of a turnip. It's promising though, just has a long way to go.
