The Proteus Effect is a game for adults that combines lighthearted comedy, engaging characters and story, lively dialogue, and gripping challenges with distinctive, vivid art and alluring erotic scenes to create a fun, sexy, and ultimately unique experience.
You take on the role of Alex, a lovable but dimwitted young man who barely graduated college and is now desperately searching for a job. Just in the nick of time, he stumbles into the job of his dreams as a video game tester for a virtual reality startup, but all isnāt as it seems. After being introduced to his eccentric coworkers, he soon finds himself not only trapped in the virtual world, but also stuck in the body of a nubile young woman.
All Alex wants is to return home to his own body, but he winds up reluctantly embarking on an adventure through a series of fantasy worlds, including the companyās game world, another world thatās suspiciously similar to a popular MMO, and an assortment of others.
He isnāt alone, though - shortly into the journey he is joined by his co-worker Ana, a tough, slightly abrasive, yet kindhearted young woman. Alex isnāt the only one whoās changed in the virtual world; it looks like Ana ended up with a little somethingā¦ extra?
Eventually, Alex is joined by other quirky companions, and together they try to uncover whatās behind the systemās strange malfunctions. How does he keep getting sent to these bizarre places? What connects them all? Can he ever manage to find his way back home?
This is a game for adults, so thereās plenty of erotic content. This isnāt just mindless porn, however - the scenes are sometimes titillatingly erotic, sometimes hilarious, but always interesting and fun. The game currently has content for futanari fans, and there will be plenty of scenes for people who like āgroup activitiesā, monsters, tentacles, vanilla (gasp!), and many other fetishes. The erotic scenes are completely optional - you can avoid any scenes you donāt like, and if you just want to experience the gameās entertainment without any of the porn, you can do that too!

10.2 consists pretty much entirely of an H-scene with Shiri. This scene is available after completing The Hell's quest - to get it, you need to speak with Shiri upstairs in the guild hall. (Note also that you'll need to have seen at least 8 H-scenes for this to be available.) There's no content other than the H-scene, but there are a tonĀ of bugfixes and continuity tweaks, including some very early-game ones.
No problem with the cartoonish style, but :
- Those eyes are from the uncanny valley
- Those boobs are so so plastic...
And huh, year, there is this game called Healslut, with a quite similar starting point. Not saying it's a clone. I honestly don't know. Still not sure I want to try this one yet.
healslut was created a couple years(like a solid 3 years btw) after this one. However, this one updates much slower
I didnāt try this one (The Proteus Effect) yet, so Iām not going to say it worth nothing or whatever, but from what I read and see it seems like Healsult is actually far well developed too (so clearly not a clone indeed) and upcoming next release seems promising.

and side quests are unnecessary and stupid, spend about 10 minutes to find an ingredient to make cookies, and then the quest fails because the dragon doesn't like it. Like what the fuck is this
I feel like this game deserves a higher rating. This game doesn't throw Juicy scenes at you off the get go. And I like that. This is a game with some juicy things on the side. I've got about 3 hours in and it's been a blast up until now.
You're playing as a character who... sometimes acts more like the girl than he acts like himself... but you understand the struggle, you enjoy the world and characters.
The quests can be difficult because you can't just go and check exactly what you have to do and it sends you in a frustrated loop of talking to everyone until you figure it out. But if you're paying attention to the dialogue it's perfectly fine. The side quests can also be fun and it gives good gold too! Those cute bears...
I wish there were some more renders for more interactions and maybe even animated on the juicy ones but overall. I'm really enjoying the game!
