Repetitive content is a means of padding out games, to make them appear longer than they are. So many Devs start out with big plans, but realise they simply don't have the time available to develop their games to their full potential. So you end up with short updates or long gaps between longer updates, and lots of repetitive content to flesh out those updates, because it's far easier to recycle stuff you've already done.

He has got over 2,750 USD per month on Pazteon, so I wouldn't classify as a "hobby game". He makes more at this than I do working my full-time job. With that kind of support, a quick update at least monthly is not too much to ask, IMHO.
