MAJOR logic flaw. MC "loses" his phone, Rachel buys him another..... with the same phone number and loaded with all of his contacts.
So let's see Rachel buys a phone, just happens to know what carrier MC uses, Somehow figures out a way to have the same number assigned to 2 phones, and knows MC's password to load all his friends in. Is there an app for all of that? Remember all his friends messaged him so it HAD to be the same phone number.

If you think a carrier service lets just anyone come in and have a specific number assigned to a new phone without it raising all kinds of red flags, you are not nearly as smart as you think.
Dude, there is something called could sync on your phone.. you should try it. W wouldn't want you to lose your contacts if you lose your phone. Most of us use it, even MC in the game.
Sounds like you haven't gotten a new phone in a while. This is not "plot-hole magic", this is the way of the world. My google contacts all automatically update on a new phone after signing in with my Google account. And yeah, you can keep your number when you get a new phone.
