Claire’s Quest [v0.27 Demo] [The Dystopian Project]

Claire’s Quest is an adult dark fantasy role-playing adventure game, featuring Claire Emmelaine, the sheltered daughter of a decorated hero whose homeland is suddenly ravaged by the devastation of war. Forced to flee her home, Claire becomes a struggling refugee, with little more than the clothes on her back to her name. As Claire is thrown into a foreign land of mystery, where a pitiless society will show her no charity, and untold horrors lurk beyond the veneer of civilization, how her story plays out is entirely in your hands.

This is a non-linear, open-world game, with a focus on replay value, and zero combat whatsoever – for Claire is not a fighter, and cannot confront her enemies head-on. Instead, Claire’s survival is entirely reliant on stealth, whatever items she can find during her journey, and four key attributes that affect her mentality and instincts: Defiance, Depravity, Intrigue, and Seduction.

Defiance determines Claire’s physicality, fortitude, and general willpower. With high Defiance, Claire will be brave enough to tackle risky situations, and might catch attackers by surprise with her fierce attitude.

Depravity determines how corrupted Claire has become in both body and mind. When Depravity is high, Claire will agree to partake in increasingly debauched acts of degeneracy, and may even enjoy the perversion.

Seduction determines Claire’s overall charm and charisma. It affects her ability to persuade, arouse, and outright manipulate. It also influences her actual skill and performance when it becomes to sexual acts.

Intrigue determines Claire’s overall talent in shadowy arts of subversion. These include acts of stealth, such as eavesdropping. With high Intrigue, she also becomes far more observant of hidden things…

Throughout the course of her tale, these traits can fluctuate in strength and weakness depending on your decisions, and may carry her through her ordeals, or lead her into ever more terrible situations…!
