Boring game and nothing to do. Basically in the morning you send your guy to school nothing happens as there is litterally nothing there you leave get a scene of a tentacle ghost molesting a girl and that seems to be all as after you fight nothing happens. Got bored at this point and uninstalled since I couldn't activate any events after that. I did find a fight with some danny or something and he hit for 120 damage and killed my guy in a few shots seemed unbeatable as he also healed more then 200hp every turn. Not worth the time tbh.
I too am impressed. The game has a pretty big gallery, lots of content.

I just finished episode 6 and I cant get "the secret gift event chain to fire. help
You have to have had sex with Maddie during the incident with Vlad. When you get home, it should trigger in Danny's room. When it does, you have to go to Abyss and buy the $150 gift.
If that doesn't help, just download the walkkthrough and try different paths. You should find it eventually.

they decided to NOT be retarded and NOT do a reboot. instead they just took 7 months to release an update. that contained the remade art, and a little new content
