Itās not like anorexia, where the belief is factually false. Gender-affirming care is supported by decades of research because it reduces depression and suicide risk, not because anyoneās denying biology. If someone did believe they physically had ovaries or a uterus without surgery, that would be a delusion. and not gender dysphoria. In that case, they wouldnāt be approved for gender-affirming treatment the process would stop (full stop), and theyād be referred for psychiatric evaluation instead and it would be treated as a different psychiatric issue, not gender dysphoria.
