He has not abandoned the game. He has been working on this game for many years and he got burnt out. Yes he is working on another game but he will come back to this one. Sometimes in order to tell compelling stories we need to step away for a while in order to develop new ideas and new concepts.
It may take a while but he will have the inspiration to return someday.
I don't think 'return someday' implies a specific date. It means it could be next week or it could be months from now.

One thing I have learned when it comes to making games is that you should never work on a game and then mid way through it, work on another game especially if it's only one person working on the game. Otherwise you can never get anything done.
I agree with you entirely, but some people get bored working on the same project all the time, or they get sidetracked very easily by new ideas. It requires self- discipline to work on a project till it's completed, and lot of people simply don't have it.

Currently the Dev is working on his new game 'Altered Destiny', which is in the early stages of development. This means there is currently no progress on 'FILF', and there is unlikely to be any in the near future. I think the problem with 'FILF', is that it was initially conceived as an 'incest' game, and Patreon's decision to outlaw such games meant it had to be substantially altered to comply with the new rules. I suspect a lot of Devs began to lose interest in such games at that point.
I will freely admit that I don't know anything about programming or how difficult it would be to edit the coding, but if the issue regarding the development of this game is the incest content could the Dev not re-write the code relating to the characters relationship status so that the mum becomes a family friend and the aunt therefore becomes her friend meaning the two girls are no longer sister and cousin. He could do this as an official patch.

You don't seem to understand the problem, the game needs a major reworking to be allowed support on Patreon.
Alternatively, I'm sure he will accept 2000$ from you directly to make the next update.
