@Rancor The Dev wasn't milking this. They are developing a new game at this very moment. The reason why this was on hiatus is that the Dev didn't have permission to release the final update from the Author. The dev has been trying to get in touch with the Author for a very long time. The Author, the one who wrote the script, needed to give the go-ahead to the Dev. I think The Dev is making a new game because they had polls on their Patreon a while back. These polls will determine the plans for the new game.
The other game is Far-off Friends, it's at version 0.4, released on February 2023. Just checked the Dev's patreon

The Story isn't written by the Dev. So, The Dev just does the "developing." and then shows it to The Author. The Author will determine whether is it ok or not. If it's okay, the Dev releases the update to the public. And, if isn't, the Dev will make changes to do it.

Not many final versions. It has multiple endings. Not sure if you're confusing this with another game. Now Dev has been wanting to release this final version since late 2021. The Dev couldn't get in touch with the author, who wrote the script, to give the go-ahead to the release. It's worth playing if you haven't.
No, I have been following this game for years as it appears to be. Dev has released 'final versions ' nearly every month. Harem and each of the girls individual endings were done more than a year ago.

According to the changelings, Alice's ending was in v0.30 and released on October 2022, so it wasn't done more than a year ago.
No, Alice ending was in 2021 not 202. My last saved file was Alice ending, and it dates back on September 2021. Literally had to open the game to check.
