Its just seems like a worn out theme on most games. Most games should give players the options for different ethnicities avatars. While Renpy (the most common VN engine seen here) can do great things in 2D with overlays and such, if you want 3DCG it means a fresh render of every possible version of a scene. Giving you two different choices of MC avatar means doubling the number of renders for any scene with the MC in it, and most VNs are done from a 3rd person perspective. Short answer: it takes too much effort.

Complains solely on character skin color, yet states "I'm not racist". LOL, you racist.
1) multiple ethnicities for the protagonists would require A LOT of effort on the part of the dev. It's unreasonable for indie devs.
2) "white" people make up about 3/4 of global consumption. Economics dictates that they will be the target market for the majority of goods.
3) A LOT of these games have East Asian protagonists due to the influence of Japanese culture.
I don't care about the protagonists, but I think it would be nice to see more diversity in the women. We see almost exclusively white and East Asian women. While I understand why, I do think this is a more reasonable request.
