You're half right with the love and submission. But don't go 100% submission as there are bad endings if love goes too low.
If you go full submission make sure to compliment the girls now and then, you get a +2 or +3 love boost and either no submission loss or just a -1 at most. It takes the edge off and prevents any bad ends.
Well, with love in 20-30 I was able to safely get all girls to 100 submission without bad ending and unlock everything with them as slavegirls. but thanks for the warning.
