The android ports can't be compressed to go under 2GB anymore, and APKs above 2GB would fail to install thanks to android's new policies.
To continue making android ports beyond the 2GB size limit, some of the game's assets need to be stored at an alternate location.
Please follow these instructions to ensure a seamless experience, without any crashes or bugs:
Updating from a working install of v1.15:
->Install 1.17 standalone/update APK (same branch as the 1.16 install)
-> Unzip 1.17 RPAs, and copy it's contents to - Internal Storage/Documents/Syko134/com.syko134.troubleinparadise/game
-> Download and paste base.rpa to the same location - Internal Storage/Documents/Syko134/com.syko134.troubleinparadise/game
This file will remain unchanged in future versions. No need to download again with each update!
->Ensure the following files are present in the folder:
base.rpa

Fresh install:
-> Install the base APK
-> Open the app, and grant storage permissions. Don't load the game yet.
(A Play Protect pop-up might appear during the install, saying the app is unsafe. This is because the app targets an older android version. The app is safe.)
-> Unzip 1.17 RPAs, and download base.rpa, 113.rpa, 114.rpa, 115.rpa and 116.rpa from below

why can't we have a free roam game?
Because this is a VN? It's like complaining that civilization doesn't have FPS mode.
Alright. Figure since I play these games often, I might as well offer a little help. In no particular order, here are some tips.
Notice: This is another time consuming game. It's one of those where different events can only happen at different times, after you've already met certain requirements. However, don't worry, there's no time limit. Games like this come down to efficiency, and the only real way to be efficient is to know what you're getting into. Follow the thread for more tips.
- For the love of god, save your game. Try to keep your "newest" save in the same spot on the first page, preferably whilst in your room so it's easy to keep track of. Obviously update this save often. This is important when trying out multiple routes/possibilities with what time you have.
- Visit the park and the beach often to see if you can collect more materials. (These are clickable seashells, berries, and flowers.) You'll get paid for selling these at the mall.
Aside from selling them, you can visit the crafting bench in the school storage room (If memory serves correctly.) You can craft an exp amulet with the aforementioned materials. (F.y.i, different colored flower means it has a chance to spawn at a different time.) THE AMULET IS THE MOST USEFUL ITEM IN THE GAME. It doubles your affection progression, aka boosts bars twice as much. I was actually pissed when I found this out in late game.
Number 3. Invest in the bitcoin miner upgrade at the mall. Yes it may be 500 but god knows it's worth it. From there, buy the mortar and pestle to craft more things at the school workbench, you'll end up needing them all at some point anyhow, and after crafting them all, you'll never need the materials again, so you can just sell them for money.
Number 4. You can only mine for bitcoin once per day, so be sure you're getting it in before midnight, because you won't be able to do it then.
And finally, Number 5. For the love of all that is good in this world, REMEMBER TO DO CLUB TASKS AT NOON. Put some time aside to just grind it to max level, it is so worth it. It's accessed by the club board. I forgot this in my own playthrough, and trust me, you will not want to do it once the story starts getting good. That's about everything I can think of. Hope this helps everyone out!
I'm amazed how many people are confusing this vn with another one, there's literally no grind at all; the whole thing is a VN with no currency or grinding mechanics in place.

I don't know what game these reviewers have been playing, but it's not "Trouble In Paradise". There's no grinding, it's a story based game where you make a handful of decisions here and there that affect who you talk to at certain times. There's no "wandering" or "crafting" or "farming". It's dialogue based with a fairly linear story.
Whether you like it or not is your choice. But judge it for what it is, not what something else is.
Again, I do not know what game you people are talking about, because there is No Grinding in "Trouble in Paradise". I have played it up until the end of the current update. It is essentially a LN. You read a bunch of text, while sometimes making choices that might effect the story. No grinding. There isn't even a currency system in the game. It is all just reading and choices.
Its just a typical vn with illusion models. Not sure why people hate this there are worse examples out there.
Indeed there is no grinding. However, as you said, the "handful of decisions" are the only agency you have, and they are few and limited. This is not a game, and as a visual novel you have very little input in the story. You are just watching a poorly animated story, constantly clicking to proceed.
